The Portland Revels has been delighting audiences and creating community in the Pacific Northwest for almost 30 years.

Revels flagship production is the Midwinter Revels (formerly the Christmas Revels), performed in December by an ensemble of professional and volunteer singers, instrumentalists, and dancers of all ages. The Midwinter Revels is always set in a specific location and time (with a little artistic license when needed to create the most magical show). Portland Revels has been producing the Midwinter Revels every year since 1995.

In December 2016, Portland Revels created The Children’s Revels, a delightful, silly show created just for Revelers ages 3 to 7. The show features the Revels Children’s Chorus, a few professional actor/clowns, a puppet or two, and a chance for our young audiences to join in the fun. Simple stories and a focus on physical storytelling allow young children (and their lucky parents) to enjoy the magic of the Revels.

The most recent addition to the Portland Revels is the Spring Revels, which began production in 2019. The Spring Revels is commissioned from a local Portland writer as a celebration of their own community. The Spring Revels brings professional actors, designers, and directors together with the non-audition Community Chorus for a delightful celebration of one of the many communities that make up Portland, Oregon.
