The turmoil caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has struck many art organizations. As vaccines and other public health measures allow our communities to open up, we are hopeful, but expect live performance to be the last thing to return. In many ways, 2021 will be as challenging for Portland Revels as 2020 was. The uncertainty is heavy. We don’t know when performing arts venues will be allowed to open or if, when opened, it will be at limited capacity. We don’t know how ready audiences will be to return right away and what measures will be needed to make them feel safe. And we don’t know if we can afford those measures. Producing shows that cannot be sold to full capacity is not sustainable. Navigating these uncertainties continues to be a challenge.
In 2020, our Portland Revels community stepped up in a big way to show their love and support for our organization. Your generosity gave us the financial footing we needed to get through the year of isolation.
2021 will be a year of transition as we build a bridge between lockdown and re-opening. We continue to need the support of our community as we face new challenges and uncertainty.
We hope you will join us by giving a gift in any amount using the button below. Thank you for your continued support. With your help, we will survive this darkness and celebrate the return of the light safely, in person, together.
