Daniel Buchanan is music director, singer, pianist, choral conductor, music teacher, actor, composer, and arranger with over 25 years of experience working in music and theater.
After receiving degrees in music and opera in 2004, he began his career as a professional singer. His performances have taken him to the Houston Grand Opera, Oregon Bach Festival, the Grammy-winning vocal ensemble Conspirare, Cappella Romana, Walla Walla Symphony, Newport Symphony, and many others. Daniel has performed in such varied venues as the New Orleans French Quarter Music Festival, the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., and the Utrecht Early Music Festival. In recent years, he appeared on stages in Zimbabwe, Finland, Greece, Denmark, England, and South Africa.
In 2010, he moved to Portland, Oregon to work with the Portland Opera. At the same time, he founded Resound NW, a musical community centered around singing lessons and classes. Resound NW has grown into a vibrant community that teaches hundreds of singers, employs a staff of talented instructors, and produces dozens of classes, events, and concerts each year.

Bruce’s first Revels as Stage Director was 2011’s The King and the Fool, and he’s been Artistic Director since January 2017. Bruce has directed many theatre, musical, and opera productions throughout the USA and Canada including: Gretel and Hansel – Shakespeare Santa Cruz, Cupid and Psyche – Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Copenhagen and Beauty Queen of Leenane – Oregon Stage Works, Taming of the Shrew – Powerhouse Theatre, Hamlet, The Winter’s Tale, Comedy of Errors, and Much Ado About Nothing – Sun Valley Shakespeare Festival, HMS Pinafore and Light in the Piazza – Mocks Crest Productions, Another Round – Pittsburgh’s City Theatre, Amahl and the Night Visitors and Der Yasager – Opera Theatre of Pittsburgh, and Hansel and Gretel – Rogue Opera. In 2012 Bruce’s play Feral (written from over 500 interviews with people living house-less in the Pacific Northwest) had a sold-out performance run in Portland. Bruce holds an MFA in Stage Directing from the Carnegie Mellon University School of Drama.
Robert has been the Portland Revels Music Director since 1999. He is a published composer who has also taught elementary and middle school music at the Franciscan Montessori Earth School, and has sung with several choirs around town. He founded and led early music ensembles in Philadelphia and Portland and plays a number of instruments.
Lynn (she/her) is a classically trained professional singer, private voice teacher, composer, musical director, and choir director. She has been fostering and developing talent in singers of various ages and abilities for 20 years in San Diego, CA, and now in Portland, OR. Whether her work is on stage, private studio, choir, or in a workshop she leads with her heart, soul, and experience to inspire others in their journey with music. Learn more at lynnmendozakhan.com
Victoria (she/her) is a theatre artist who’s worked on and around the stage for two decades. Attended college in California and acting apprenticeship in Louisville, KY. before moving to Chicago. During Her four years in the Windy City. Victoria worked for Halcyon, Jackalope, Red Theater and Chicago Danz. Her decision to relocate to Portland to work with Oregon Adventure Theatre has been a life changing one. Most recently acting with Bag & Baggage on their production of Red Velvet, Victoria is thrilled to be working with The Revels for the first time!
Mikki is honored to be back for her second year with Portland Revels. She hopes she gives proper homage to her great great grandmother Mary Larkin, who emigrated to America from Ireland in 1850. Before Mikki moved west, she worked with many Boston area companies, including American Repertory Theatre and Vokes, Concord and Hovey Players. Here in Portland she performs with Original Practice Shakespeare Festival (since 2009) and has been on their board since 2017. She played Tim Stapleton’s mother in his auto biographical piece Leaning on Everlasting Arms, worked with Philip Cuomo in PAC’s production of Big Love, portrayed a street woman in Bruce Hostetler’s Feral, and was a member of the award winning ensemble production of Adrienne Flagg’s Note to Self. She has appeared on TV in Grimm, Librarians, Documentary Now!, and numerous episodes of Portlandia. Mikki loves living in Mirabella Portland with her husband, Steve, midway between their two children and three grandchildren.
Maldon is a passionate Irish dance teacher with over 30 years of experience. Maldon holds a MA from the University of Limerick in Ireland, specializing in Ethnochoreology. From her childhood dancing Irish sets with her father, Maldon discovered her love for Irish sean-nós dance in her early 20s, and it quickly became her calling. Today, she shares her expertise all across America. In 2020, Maldon took her teaching to the next level by launching an online dance school with a membership-based platform.
Doren is making his first appearance with the Portland Revels. Doren’s journey as an actor began in a small steel mill town outside of Pittsburgh. He began his career before the end of high school in a barn theatre production of “Guys and Dolls” He attended the Univ. of Texas and has lived on both coasts with plenty of B-movie credits to prove it. In San Diego, Doren was a company member of Lamb’s Players Theatre. While in Portland Doren has appeared at numerous theatres and directed productions for Clackamas Repertory Theatre and Oregon Children’s Theatre. Doren has spent time as an actor, artistic director, producer, writer, dancer, and voice over artist. He and his wife, KB Mercer, own and operate The Traveling Lantern Theatre Co., a national children’s theatre.
Mike Cino (he/they) is a production manager, union stagehand, educator, and electrical engineering student. While most of his recent time and brain have been consumed by educational pursuits, queer interests, and parenting, he has also worked with Fuse Theatre Ensemble since very early in its life. Some recent credits of interest are backstage work done with Hamilton, Alice Cooper, Taylor Mac, Dua Lipa, and Justin Bieber. Mike is happy to be returning to Revels work, which he has been involved with onstage and off since 2000.
Larry has been involved with theater since 5th grade when he played Schroder in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. He has worked as a professional designer in Portland for the last 33 years which includes shows at Broadway Rose Theatre Co., Artists Repertory Theatre, Third Rail Repertory Theatre, Oregon Children’s Theatre, Portland Actors Conservatory, and Mocks Crest Productions for which he was the producer. He teaches design at the University of Portland.
Allison (she/her) is a Portland area designer and costumer. She has worked in costume shops from Virginia to Arkansas and locally with companies such as Portland Center Stage and Artists Repertory Theatre, but design has always been her passion. Allison grew up in Beaverton and earned her BA in theatre design from Willamette University. While earning her degree she spent considerable time studying art history in London, where her husband still lives as they navigate the US immigration system. Haille is thrilled to be joining The Portland Midwinter Revels with Emerald Odyssey as the production stage manager. She grew up in the SE Portland area and is overjoyed to be back in the Portland theater community. She is a freelance stage manager in Portland as well as the production coordinator at Portland Center Stage. Selected stage manager credits: Choir Boy (Portland Center Stage), Comedy of Errors (Bard in the Quad), The Secret Garden (Oregon State University), Romeo and Juliet (Bard in the Quad), and The Passion of Dracula (Oregon State University). She sends love to her family, friends, and her husband Kane for listening to her type away at emails and always supporting her in all of her endeavors in theatre and out.
Jenn works as a paralegal at an immigration law office by day and is a freelance stage and production manager on nights and weekends. Since graduating from Reed College in 2014, Jenn has been happily immersed in Portland theatre, working with several companies around town. Favorite credits include Playhouse Creatures (Coho), Cabaret (Fuse Theatre Ensemble), King Lear (Portland Actors Ensemble), Hamlet/Romeo and Juliet (Salt and Sage), and Emerald Odyssey (The Portland Revels). Jenn has a passion for theatre education and loves making weird stuff with friends.
This is J.R.s first year participating in Revels after being a friend to some performers and fan of Revels’ work and members for a few years now. J.R. has always had a keen interest in theatre, and was studying Technical theatre at Portland Community College when covid started, and has been working on getting back into theatre ever since. J.R. was in just over 20 Theatrical performances in high school, frequently stage managing or working in set construction, as well as doing a few internships with Broadway Rose as a spotlight operator and Carpenter. It is JR’s Dream to one day go on to work professionally as a technical director in the Portland Theatre scene.
