George Kunz

It had been my dream to have my youngest daughter in the cast with me. She asked every year from age 4 and on –  to join the chorus. When she was 12 she auditioned. Already getting too tall for the children’s choir, this would be her last chance. She was accepted into the cast. Her mother, however, was not a fan of Revels and forbid her participation. First day of rehearsals, I showed up and went to Robert to apologize for the situation. He simply looked at me,  opened his arms and gave me a giant hug and I cried. I’ll never forget that moment.  It’s Robert’s heart I feel in the music.

And of course firstly I was floored by Betsy and the band catching fire in the Scottish show, but mostly I remember those magic moments when she played duos with Hardanger players, fiddlers and other musicians. Unforgettable.
