Bruce Akpan Hostetler

Bruce’s first Revels as Stage Director was 2011’s The King and the Fool, and he’s been Artistic Director since January 2017. Bruce has directed many theatre, musical, and opera productions throughout the USA and Canada including: Gretel and Hansel – Shakespeare Santa Cruz, Cupid and Psyche – Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Copenhagen and Beauty Queen of Leenane – Oregon Stage Works, Taming of the Shrew – Powerhouse Theatre, Hamlet, The Winter’s Tale, Comedy of Errors, and Much Ado About Nothing – Sun Valley Shakespeare Festival, HMS Pinafore and Light in the Piazza – Mocks Crest Productions, Another Round – Pittsburgh’s City Theatre, Amahl and the Night Visitors and Der Yasager – Opera Theatre of Pittsburgh, and Hansel and Gretel – Rogue Opera. In 2012 Bruce’s play Feral (written from over 500 interviews with people living house-less in the Pacific Northwest) had a sold-out performance run in Portland. Bruce holds an MFA in Stage Directing from the Carnegie Mellon University School of Drama.

Lynn Mendoza-Khan

Lynn (she/her) is a classically trained professional singer, private voice teacher, composer, musical director, and choir director. She has been fostering and developing talent in singers of various ages and abilities for 20 years in San Diego, CA, and now in Portland, OR. Whether her work is on stage, private studio, choir, or in a workshop she leads with her heart, soul, and experience to inspire others in their journey with music.  Learn more at lynnmendozakhan.com

Robert Lockwood

Robert has been the Portland Revels Music Director since 1999. He is a published composer who has also taught elementary and middle school music at the Franciscan Montessori Earth School, and has sung with several choirs around town. He founded and led early music ensembles in Philadelphia and Portland and plays a number of instruments.

Betsy Branch

Betsy joined Revels in 2006 and has been the Music Director and played fiddle onstage for all previous years of the Children’s Revels. She has been teaching fiddle and violin out of her Portland home since 1999, and she plays regularly for contra and English Country dances both locally and all around the country.

Tricia Castañeda-Guevara

Tricia Castañeda-Guevara is a classically trained actor from Los Angeles. She holds a BA in Theatre from Linfield University and an MFA in Acting from the University of Washington. She is also a graduate of The international Stunt School in Seattle, WA. Favorite theatrical credits include Goldie, Max and Milk, By the Way Meet Vera Stark, Remme’s Run, As You Like it, Romeo y Julieta and more.

Doren Elias

Doren is making his first appearance with the Portland Revels. Doren’s journey as an actor began in a small steel mill town outside of Pittsburgh. He began his career before the end of high school in a barn theatre production of “Guys and Dolls” He attended the Univ. of Texas and has lived on both coasts with plenty of B-movie credits to prove it. In San Diego, Doren was a company member of Lamb’s Players Theatre. While in Portland Doren has appeared at numerous theatres and directed productions for Clackamas Repertory Theatre and Oregon Children’s Theatre. Doren has spent time as an actor, artistic director, producer, writer, dancer, and voice over artist. He and his wife, KB Mercer, own and operate The Traveling Lantern Theatre Co., a national children’s theatre.

Zero Feeney

Zero is a graduate of the Portland Actor’s Conservatory and Lewis and Clark College. He has performed with many Portland area theaters including Defunkt, Vertigo, Milagro, Northwest Children’s Theater and Twilight Theater Company which honored him with their award for Best Performance by a supporting male in 2016 for his portrayal of Robert in Boeing Boeing. He was last seen on the Portland stage as Jelly in Portal Productions & Rutabaga Story Co’s The Trash Diggers. Zero is also an alumnus of the Academy of Theatrical Combat in Los Angeles and studies martial arts and dance in his spare time. Zero would like to thank Jen and Molly for their support.

Shuhe Hawkins

Shuhe is a Portland based actor, musician, puppeteer and Pirate. He also proudly teaches mask making in schools as a teaching artist with Young Audiences of Oregon and SW Washington. Shuhe has made PDX his home since 1996 and has worked with many theatre companies over the years. His most recent performance with Portland Revels was in the role of the dragon (surprise!) in the 2021 virtual production. “I am happy to be celebrating the return of the light, live again, with my friends!” Shuhe is the co-proprietor of Seven Sails Vineyard with his partner Kate Larsen, whom he fell in love with while they both performed in the Portland Christmas Revels in 2003. Matt Rowning

Matt Rowning is a musician, actor and sound designer who is very happy to be joining the Revels for this production! Thank you to DeReau for this opportunity to play for you all and accompany this beautiful production.

Laura Onizuka

Laura Onizuka, recipient of a 2011 Regional Arts and Culture Council Professional Development Grant, is the founder and owner of Experience Flamenco.  She has become a conduit of flamenco in the Pacific Northwest organizing classes, workshops, and events for the community. She also teaches online classes to a growing community. Once a year Laura takes groups of students to Spain to experience flamenco in its birthplace and to continue her own study of this complex art form with masters such as Mercedes Ruíz. Laura is fueled by the challenge and beauty of flamenco. She believes anyone who is moved by flamenco has the capability to access it.

Mike Cino

Mike Cino (he/they) is a production manager, union stagehand, educator, and electrical engineering student. While most of his recent time and brain have been consumed by educational pursuits, queer interests, and parenting, he has also worked with Fuse Theatre Ensemble since very early in its life. Some recent credits of interest are backstage work done with Hamilton, Alice Cooper, Taylor Mac, Dua Lipa, and Justin Bieber. Mike is happy to be returning to Revels work, which he has been involved with onstage and off since 2000.

Larry Larsen

Larry has been involved with theater since 5^th grade when he played Schroder in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. He has worked as a professional designer in Portland for the last 33 years which includes shows at Broadway Rose Theatre Co., Artists Repertory Theatre, Third Rail Repertory Theatre, Oregon Children’s Theatre, Portland Actors Conservatory, and Mocks Crest Productions for which he was the producer. He teaches design at the University of Portland.

Margaret Chapman

Margaret Louise Chapman has a MS in Theater from Portland State University.  She was Resident Costumer/Designer at Portland Civic Theatre for 17 years. She spent four years as Costumer/Faculty at Portland State University and is past Resident Costumer for Oregon Children’s Theater Company and past Resident Costumer/Instructor for Portland Community College/Sylvania Campus. Margaret is a multiple Willie, Drammy, OTAS, ACTF, and PAMTA recipient.  She is a past President and current Endowment Chair of the Portland Civic Theatre Guild.

Johanna Ruefli

Johanna (she/her) has been with the Portland Revels since 2014. She has been stage managing since 2006. When not in the theater, she can be found backstage at concert venues hosting the VIPs. She does all of this for her Springer Doodle Millie, and Siamese cats Lucy and Laurie. In her spare time she skydives and was involved in helping the rebellion defeat the empire.

Jon Timm

Jon is a visual artist who uses video projectors, cameras & analog mixing gear to create his distinct style. Jon has collaborated with bands such as Mascares, Reptaliens, Sama Dams & Y La Bamba. As well as theater productions including Ruby Rocket Live! at the Vancouver Fringe, Edmonton Improvaganza, Miami Improv Festival as well as at MI Westide in LA & weekly at Curious Comedy Theater.

Jenn Lindell-Evans

Jenn works as a paralegal at an immigration law office by day and is a freelance stage and production manager on nights and weekends. Since graduating from Reed College in 2014, Jenn has been happily immersed in Portland theatre, working with several companies around town. Favorite credits include Playhouse Creatures (Coho), Cabaret (Fuse Theatre Ensemble), King Lear (Portland Actors Ensemble), Hamlet/Romeo and Juliet (Salt and Sage), and Emerald Odyssey (The Portland Revels). Jenn has a passion for theatre education and loves making weird stuff with friends.
